Generic Pool Video Productions have been producing corporate videos, training and educational videos, infomercials, music videos and documentaries since 1999. The founder and director comes from a professional stills photographic background where he worked with 35mm, Hasselblad medium format and Sinar 5x4 large format film cameras. His speciality was commercial, advertising and fashion photography. He photographed commercial advertisements for various companies including: BMW cars, Smirnoff vodka, Nike training shoes and National Express coaches. Having run his own photographic studio in North London during the late 1980's, coupled with his passion for movies, offering video production services seemed logical. As well as studying photography at college in London, he also studied screenwriting before receiving formal training as a Lighting Cameraman.

The Director of Generic Pool has a passion for the moving image and all things video. He was the founder/editor of UK-based video magazine DVuser, which he ran for eight years. During this time he wrote many technical articles, tutorials and reviews relating to video production equipment. He has also been commissioned to write manuals and technical articles for professional production equipment companies such as: Sony, Panasonic and JVC. He also worked in a freelance capacity as a technical advisor and beta-tester for: Sony Broadcast, Panasonic Broadcast and JVC Professional and was often asked by these companies to give talks and lectures in both the UK and across Europe.

In the past Generic Pool Productions have produced DVDs on a wide range of subjects including: digital photography, glamour photography, baby care, cake decorating, gliding, home cinema systems, fishing, as well as health and safety videos, infomercials, corporate presentations, music videos and classical music concerts.

He has also personally written, produced and presented training DVDs and web presentations on photography, video production and lighting techniques.

He is also a professional stills photographer. To view his work visit his site: here
